Today’s factory visit took us to a hardware manufacturer in China.
The first thing you notice when you walk into the workshop is the environment.
It is noisy. The air is dusty. Welding sparks flash across the production floor, and workers spend hours cutting, welding, assembling and finishing metal components.
It is not a glamorous working environment.
And yet, this is where many of the small components behind furniture, salon equipment and everyday products are made.
When we see a finished chair, cabinet or piece of equipment, it is easy to focus only on the final product.
But behind that finished product are production lines, machines, raw materials — and many people doing physically demanding work every day.
Factory visits like this are always a reminder that manufacturing is not only about price, specifications and delivery schedules.
It is also about people.
Respect to the workers on the production floor who make the products that support our everyday lives.

Hardware factories in China may produce metal frames, brackets, fittings, welded structures and other components used in furniture, salon furniture, commercial equipment and related products.
Depending on the factory, production processes can include metal cutting, welding, polishing, assembly and surface finishing.
